Make Grow is a video edited from two rolls of film. It explores the autonomy of materiality in a semiotically violent approach and forms a narrative explicitly delivered through a voiceover. The soundtrack and visual elements together reveal the subjectivity of the film as material and provide viewers with personal access to this experience. Beyond the video’s content, the trace of subjectivity is ambiguous while the filmmaker’s will and the autonomy of materiality merge into one and become intertwined.
